About
I’m Lygia Cabral, a visual artist trained in architecture, graphic design, and visual arts.
Growing up in São Paulo, Brazil, I learned to notice small traces of nature within the city — texture, contrast, silence, presence. That way of seeing continues to shape my practice today.
My work moves between mixed media, abstract painting, material experimentation, and layered processes. Each piece begins with observation — of texture, color, emotion, or memory — and develops through a slow, intentional exploration of gesture and transformation.
I explore the space between nature and memory, between what is organic and what is constructed. Through material and gesture, I aim to create quiet intensity and simplicity.
